They both could agree that everything would be nicer if they could stay. The outside world seemed to disappear while they were here and going back to the reality of their situation would pierce the deception they had created for themselves among the roots of trees and other various plants that were withering above them.
It was over. It was finally over. But they felt no comfort in the fact. They had lost and now the end of this war meant the end of everything they believed in; freedom, justice, order.
The tears fell down her face in streams and she couldn't breathe. It was as if something was preventing her from allowing the air in her lungs and the only sound that could escape her lips was a strange choking sound that only hurt her chest more. It was an ugly sound. It was a sound she hated to hear. But she couldn't stop it. Not while the only person that she had left was lying cold, motionless on the ground in front of her.
