flashback:
I am eight, or ten, or something like that, young and cute and chubby.
I am permitted, just this once, to stay up late with my mother and watch the movie she rented: Spirited Away.
It makes me cry.
Watching it today, I remember this, and I wish that my mother were alive to watch it with me.
sucking it down like fire in your throat
sadness to fiery raging anger
like a burning village in your eyes
I created a monster within myself
someone who will love unconditionally
no matter the cost
I created a monster within myself
so that you will no longer be lost
escape from the emptiness that holds its place within my heart,
escape from the love that once bound me
escape from the prison that once held me,
escape from your arms, which tried to destroy me
escape from the life that once shattered me
escape from myself
Flying high with a ribbon like a ponytail: a kite reimagined as a child. Carefree and flying, flowing, but still tied down to Earth by people and string. Spurred on by the wind, the kite struggles to be free, on its own, completely independent: adolescent rebellion.Sadly, the kite returns to reality: adulthood.
How you dress affects how people see you. Janis Joplin was mocked for years in school because of her fashion sense. But then she went back to her high school reuion and she was the one who mocked them. Take that, society!
Reflex. Reflex to type, reflex to breathe, reflex when you use that tiny hammer on your knee, or your doctor does. And he probably should, because it's best for you not to be hitting people with tiny hammers without a license. All the trouble you could get into! Astounding!
Destiny.
Simplicity.
Another word that has no connection.
A mind, without connection.
Like a broken freeway.
Can you break a freeway?
Once again-
No connection.
