beach
she ran across the beach with quick, graceful strides. she had to catch him. why was it so hard to run as fast as she wanted. her mind was racing faster than her legs could carry on and her huffing and puffing was beginning to overwhelm her body. just a foot away from she reached out her sweaty fingers and grazed his shiny, tan back. he turned, and embraced her immediatly in a hug. "you came," he said. "I had to see you," she replied, relieved he was pleased to see her and that waiting in four hours of traffic on i-95 was worth. or was it? she was soon to find out.
matching
he raced forward. he was almost matching his apponent. just. one. more. stride. and he would please the crowd. the crowd with his over zealous parents, his sister who was too cool to be there, and the girl he wanted nothing more than to marry in the future.
