He had a very indistinct face. It wasnt memorable, it wasnt the type of guy she would have thought she could love. He didnt even wear a nice cologne. Everything about him was wrong, but she loved him.
He claimed he was saved. Jesus had come into his life and led him on the right path to salvation. He claimed that he now saw the light and that she would burn in hell if she didnt see it too. But she knew better than that.

In th enearbye driveway stood the boy she once loved, giggling at his neckshock. "So you dont even say hi anymore?" and he ran over for a warm hug. She didnt know what to do.
The kettle loudly squealed, and she ran over to turn it off before the baby woke up. The baby was beautiful, she had green eyes just like her father. She thought about the father, who was in Afghanistan, her husband who she said I do to not all that long ago. She poured the tea from the kettle and hoped to God that he would not take away the father of her baby girl.
She smiled while she looked at pictures. The flashy redhead and the little blonde dancing together in diapers. Things had changed so much.... but things were good the way they were.
Whiskey is what mattered most to her since dad left. She drank to ignore mom, she drank to ignore me, she drank to ignore her own depression. Whiskey, that god damned bottle became her life.
