She stepped through the doorway, carefully placing one foot in front of the other. Her white converses stood out from all the other feet on the marble floor. What was she doing here, she thought to herself. She shouldn't have come. She realized now that it was a mistake but there was no turning back. Meredith slipped through the gaggle of girls to greet her. Meredith was wearing baby pink flats, much more delicate than her sneakers.
"Welcome, so glad you could make it, the meeting will start shortly."
Her response was automatic shock. Her best friend with him? This couldn't be. She sat down. She had to. Everything around her was spinning. Who could she trust now? No one.
she cursed modern technology for eliminating phono booths. she was depserate. she needed to call him, now, but her phone was dead. she ran down the crowded block pushing by people. looking left and right. there had to be just one, small, dirty, cramped, telephone booth.
even though she only saw the back of the young man's head she knew who it was. the shaggy, golden brown hair. how could it be? when did he return? there was no avoiding it. sally took a deep breath and walked up to the booth in the corner of the diner. "hey" she said. "hi" he replied. how in the world could he be so causal about it? hi? that is what you say when you see the girl you mysteriusley left after dating for two years? hi?!
it made me thirsty but i loved them so much. i could never resist a warm pretzel from the mall. ooh and cinnamon ones were my favorite. yum, aunt
