kyren
from the depths the legions came,
their banners high and eyes aflame,
their thirst was for unknowing things
that crawl beneath the crowns of kings
their swords were rusted with the blood
and their boots were covered with the mud
of a thousand thousand banners furled.
and a thousand thousand conquered worlds
Veteran soldiers,
Not much older,
Than the children of those Halcyon Years.
Gazes like ice,
Hard and bright,
Cold, cruel and clear.
Born of iron, fire and bone
She falls upon her hapless foe.
Razor gaze,
And bloodied blade,
A tyrant king dethroned.
There seems nothing more unusual,
Than a sapian juvenile.
Creatures barbed of tongue,
Cruel for those so young.
The attitude I deem institutional
Executioner’s formalwear,
Round the neck and in the air.
A tearful, quick goodbye,
Now don the hangman’s tie,
Then onward to this stuffy, strangling affair.
Raptor; Shadow King of Avion,
Sought the chair of God Amon.
Lord of Skies,
A Feast for Flies,
Fell the Blackest Swan.
(birds have talons!)
I met a man so very queer,
Clothed in black and quite austere.
I glanced at him,
Turned back and then,
Found him disappeared.
“Tonight darling, we have an /agenda/,
First dinner, desert and the cinema,
Then a late night drink,
Your head in my sink,
And your body soaked in ammonia.”
"College is hard!" Said the chemist to the mathematician,
"Summation, combinations, integration, addition!
Ions and equations,
All these fucking Asians,
Higher learning seems a war of attrition!"
Seeking only to efface,
A familial disgrace.
She sought the chilly clasp,
Of Death’s enduring grasp,
And met him in a dark and secret place.
