The basement was full of water. And it kept climbing and climbing the stairs to my house. I knew I would not escape with my life so I did what anyone would do. I prayed. And I cried and once the water had reached the roof I was at peace.
The tunnel seemed to be endless. With my hand on the wall I continued down the dark and damp passage. I could only hope there was light at the end. There was no way to know.
I am a respectable young woman. I am a respectable young woman. Even though I repeated this to myself for the past five minutes, I still didn't believe it. No one will ever believe it after they find out what happened.
It wasn't a success at all. She failed miserably. Her friends expected it, her parents expected, and even she expected. Success never was really in the cards for. It had never been.
