I don't like the residue that builds up on my dishes above the stove. How does that even happen? I don't fry food and yet the dishes are all covered in an oily dust. I wash them, replace them, and within a month, they are all the same. Perhaps I should get rid of them since obviously I'm not using them anyway.
I used to carry a torch for you & then I met the man I married. I carry his torch now & I love helping it shine.
I see a definite pattern in my behavior lately. I struggle with being nicer, being vulnerable. I am nicer to friends & strangers than I am to my husband. I pick fights with him after a long day. I have no reason other than I can't seem to break the pattern.
I rarely sign petitions. I just don't enjoy putting my name on a piece of paper that requires me to agree or disagree with anything. Now I'm all about change, but I believe in action. I believe that living your talk and walking your walk are the best ways to bring that about. It's easy to sign your name on a line. That takes no courage.
I didn't always recycle. My first time was in college after we drank a lot of beer. Looking at all the bottles made me wonder what happened to all that trash. After doing my research, I've been a die hard recycler ever since. Even got my family and friends to start doing it. Ha! I'm a trendsetter.
Oh My! I love brunch. Never really get to eat it since I have a 5 and 3/4 year old and there is no way he's giving up cartoons for breakfast. However, now that I think about it, who doesn't love bacon & pancakes....well except for vegetarians...but even then, they miss the bacon and love the pancakes.
Start a revolution. Begin a demonstration. Change only happens when you start with yourself. Look in the mirror and discover your truth and then BY GOD! Don't be afraid to share it.
When I was little there were few things I adored more than flying on a swing. It was the closest I came to freedom at the time. Sometimes I'll see kids at the park and I'll wish that I could feel that light and unburdened again.
Now I'm teaching my kid to swing and I know that soon he will get the hang of it and I'll be able to share one more thing with him. One more way for us to connect.
