Jonathan handled the long knife better than anyone Alexander had ever seen. The man moved like waves on the sea, moving fast, hard and twisting in ways he could never understand. The walls of their jail crumpled.
Jonathan drank the sight in. Alexander was standing in front of him, unharmed, except for the small cut on his cheek, bleeding golden ichor. He smiled at Jonathan, who felt like a man who had just discovered an oasis on a desert. His thirst for justice was quenched.
Jonathan's hands cramped from trying to master the use of chopsticks. He held the two sticks in his hands, gingerly and tried his damnedest to not get frustrated. He'd promised Alexander to get sushi with him and he was damn getting some fine ass sushi with Alexander without whining away like Adele would've.
It wasn't the first time that Jonathan noticed Alexander's proficiency in German. Alexander stood behind him, babbling away in that strange guttural language... to some woman they had saved earlier from being mauled to death by Those. Jonathan wasn't sure if he liked the sound of Alexander having something to say that he couldn't understand.
There he was, sitting in a serene lotus position. His delicate hands were resting in his lap. His dark brown skin looked beautiful, sweaty and shimmering in the raw sunlight. His eyes were closed in meditation and I fell down to my knees, staring at him and staring at his divinity. A tree grew behind him. The tree flowered in colours I had never seen before.
They were called Angels, because they were beautiful. Heavenly creatures. But in Angels, beauty never existed. They were truly horrifying creatures, with wings of fire and eyes of pure light. They weren't beautiful, they were monsters.
The fucking strobe light was too bright in Jonathan's eyes. He surveyed the room, half naked bodies, shining, shimmering with glitter and sweat. He almost gagged when he saw his sister grinding with the girl he'd been in love with years ago. He downed a shot of blue liquid, desperately searching for Alexander.
