Cheap. Cheap. CHeap. That's what he was. He never simpley let the kids even have birthday parties, because it would 'ruin his money savings'. He beat the kids, and even her, because of their whining. She hated him for it. But how could she object? he fed them...But he did little else. "I hate you!' She screamed suddenly, grabbing her daughter and son. She grabbed them close, hissing dangerously, and pulled herself and them to the door. "Stay here..Mommy will pack. We're leaving."
The one day when he didn't arrive home when he had promised, I knew. That cheap old man was cheating. Not harmless kissing or flirting..The real thing. I kneeled and cried. I had devoted so much to him! So much..... I sobbed to myself, my youngest son coming in to hug me. He held me close and told me not to worry, that daddy would be home soon. But he wouldn't be. How could I tell little Jackie? He was only five.. Poor lad. I wished it wouldn't happen again. And now it was. I sobbed again. "I'm sorry, Jackie..." He only nodded, innocence of a five year old not suspecting anything. "Daddy's...Gone for now." I finally said to him. He moved back "Gone?" I wiped my eye. "Yes...gone."
