I walked down the street, feeling the warmth of the luxurious sun against my flesh. The wind blew my hair which stuck to my ripened lips. I squinted. It was still and silent and all I could hear was my heart.
I looked out to my wasteland, this empty abyss that I called my own. The wind moved around me, the only physical evidence of something else besides myself. I was lonely.
I glanced over at the bookshelf holding all of my secret hiding places. I wanted to escape this place and delve into what I believed to be the real world. I couldn’t stand this place any longer.
