tarnished memories, trophies, gold. It gives a sense of old. Tarnished items seem to demand a reverence that the new just can not have.
To change something. Is it not upsetting that we must change things? Why do we need to alter anything. Would it not be nice to be in a state of perfection, nothing needing to be altered? We shouldn't have to alter people. Wedding dresses must be altered.
