Josh dragged his land against the everlasting wooden fence. It made a 'thump, thump, thump' sound that was amusing to a small mind like his. He was meeting his girlfriend here... But they had both lied to their parents about what they were doing, he knew it.
Jessica giggled for no particular reason, staring up at the sky above the fence. She was supposed to meet her boyfriend, Josh here. But she told her mother that she was going out to the coffee shop with Jill. What a lie! She didn't even like Jill. Little did she knew, Jill had the same plans.
Jill leaned her back against the tall fence, sliding down to the ground. She heard birds chirping on the other side, and wondered why she wasn't allowed to go over the fence. It sounded so peaceful and beautiful. It couldn't be harmful. She scrambled up and over, and those were the last thoughts she had.
Alexis sat on the fence and stared at the blue-purple sky. She looked to the boy next to her. "Matt, why does the sky get dark?" she asked, waiting for an answer.. But not receiving one
Fences are meant to keep things in.
