their skin seemed to glow from the inside, a haze of golden shimmer surrounding their entire being. delicate feet crossed each other, suspended over the ground, toes curling as they flung their head backwards.
with wings spread wide from each shoulder, light exploded from every crevice, every pore. as the sparkling dust began to settle, they opened their golden eyes and gazed into my soul.

I giggled, nudging my goggles back onto my nose with my shoulder as I poured one of the chemicals into the beaker. This couldn't be anything other than fun - why were they so worried? I mean, yes, I had no idea what these substances were, but I knew it would be great to watch.

I readied the other beaker to pour, quickly emptying it out into the other liquid. I felt a hand tighten on my arm, nails dig into me as my eyes widened in excruciating pain. The dense white smoke began to pour off in gallons over the desk, scorching my delicate skin.
