tossedpenny
This is what happens. Every time I try to break out, the sirens howl.
The dogs grit their teeth at me,
For adding extra hours to their daily jobs sniffling at grime and filth.
I just want to be left in the dark, so I can run deeper into my delusions,
but the spotlights can't wait to hunt me down.
I'm their prey, and can't wait to close in on me, and engulf me forever.
I don't want to be here. Anywhere but here.
Thirst
It ran the risk over overflowing any moment
Yet the sensation of its smoothness
Fit in my hand just perfectly
And emptying it in my mouth was nothing
Short of a motor reflex
As I quenched the needs of my body and soul
A cold sensation ran down my chest
Licking my lips gently
I let out of a sigh of relief
Nothing quite like a glass of water, right?
The water cooled my skin,
As dewdrops formed and fell,
Littering my tainted skin.
I peeked through the embrace of a crippled tree,
Only the blinding headlights greeted me,
As the grey clouds cried unheard
The girl got out of the car and walked over to a grave,
Full of dry bones and teeth and hair,
Drenched wet in minutes,
She just stood there, and soaked it all in.
