He pushed through the crowd, through the masses, looking for that flash of purple, that ugly old raincoat. He dodged a woman in stilettos, then moved toward the edge of the street. Then, he saw her.
"Sadie!" he called.
The child turned at his voice and reached out her pudgy hands, her face wrinkled in distress as she cried out his name.
