Ally awoke to the strangest thing. Pure light everywhere. All she could see was a blinding light that did not blind her. She felt herself rising and felt an odd sensation on her back. She had wings. She flew into the clouds and never returned again.
Chicken wings were on Lila's mind. They always were. They were a strangest of addicitons, especially odd for a beautiful young woman with so much potential. She loved them, but they ruined everything she ever had. Chicken wings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every minute in between was spent obsessing over them.
I had wings once. I flew around the clouds, mingling with blue skies and blue birds. It was beautiful. I wished to stay there forever, sadly forever doesn't exist and the world is an imperfect place.
Thunder crashes outside her window and she tentatively glances outside, biting her nails and racking her brain for the answer. She faces him again, only this time strong. Strong as the thunder outside her window, she looks into his cold, ice blue eyes and says, "No."
