'Sneaky, fat, lying son-of-a-bitch!' Sally hissed under her breath as she listened to her college, Troy, spin the boss another tall tale.
He had been awfully nasty to Sally all week, snapping and swearing at her; even going so far as to whisper to her on Monday night to her that the boss wanted to see her Tuesday because of a 'fuck up' she had made. When Sally had asked what she had done, Troy just sneered and said, "Well maybe you just need to think a little harder on that."
All Tuesday she had fidgeted in nervous anticipation as she tried to recall what she had done before the boss called her.
The call never came and Sally realized Troy had been playing with her because she had called him out on something HE had done wrong the previous day.
Now, as she listened to another lie being spun about her, she was fed up and angry but did allow her self a small smile.
'Soon,' she hissed again, 'your lies will catch up with you, you diva. It's called Karma. And I helped Karma along a little with your brake lines. Have a fun drive home tonight....'
Looking at her slouch, combined with the pitiful expression on her face, told her everything she needed to know.
He'd broken her heart - again.
Sheila didn't know how much she could take of this. Breaking up, getting back together, breaking up again. The back and forth was killing her!
"Oh, mum," her daughter sighed, "would you not look so stressed? It's just a soap opera for goodness sake; they're not real!"
"Anywhere but here," she sighed as yet another squall of torrential rain flung itself against her windows.
"What'd you say, mum?"
"Nothing hun, it's just hard being stuck inside with you four kids and all this rain!"
I want to be anywhere but here. Preferably a beach in the sun next to a huge city where anything you wish to buy is there for your to do so to your hearts content. Money would be an issue in real life but who cares right now? It's my fantasy right? If, in my mind, I want to be on a beach next to a place where I can buy exotic and yummy things to eat, talk to nice, normal people and have no worries then I damn well will.
The dusk painted skyline and the birds drawing in for the night were Marie's only witness to her violent act. Never the less consumed with rage, she was still careful in this respect, and glad no human eyes observed her.
Grinning she picked up the shovel once more and brought it smashing down upon the already bloodied mess that was once her lover.
"Lover, huh" she grunted. "Just like all the others there was only one thing you wanted and you were quite happy to lie and tell me you loved me to get it. Well get this!"
SMACK!
She brought the shovel down over and over again...
The marble figurine stood alone in the room. It's size alone demanded attention and one could not help gaze in awe at the delicate, intricate details that adorned the massive carving.
Steve was the only person who's eyes were not focused on this chiseled block though; his were everywhere but, trying to figure out how he was going to steal the ginormous 15T statue without getting caught... or crushed.
Sheila sighed in frustration as another wave of raucous laughter pealed down the dorms hallway. No one seemed in the mood to study despite exams being less then two weeks away. Sighing again, Sheila pushed the books away for a moment and walked over to her bedroom window, watching the preppy rich kids lounge around without a care in the world.
"Alright for some." she muttered bitterly, "Mummy and Daddy will just pay for repeat semesters and they'll never learn."
She strode back to her desk determined not to be distracted again. Students on scholarships like herself had no choice but to pass; there are no second chances or rich parents to bail you out.
Their laughter rung down the small hallway, irritating Ivan more then he thought possible. Didn't they know this was no time for laughter? His only daughter lay next to him, cold and silent, and the only coherent thing cutting through his morbid thoughts were 'how dare they laugh when she never will again.'
The 8 of hearts card lay on the floor, surrounded by many others. Another card fluttered down to lay beside it and the pool of blood drew ever closer to them.
Gambling was over for the day. No one wins in roulette when it's Russian.
The left one just wouldn't fit. No matter how many times she struggled to get it on it refused to continue past her toes. 'It doesn't make sense!' Maria thought to herself, 'I've lost weight so how can my left foot only have gained more?!'
Almost sobbing in frustration as she again tempted to shod the stubborn shoe, she noticed a shop assistant walking towards her.
"Excuse me ma'm," the assisant said, "but you're trying on the display shoes which are two different sizes. Here's the match to the size you need."
