He dug the blade deep, deeper. Liquids emerged from the bird's fleshy surface. The knife stung his palms, he grasped it with such ferocity. He ripped through its skin, leaving long gashes that exposed it's pale bones. He stabbed it, short staccato motions, again, again. He dropped the knife. It clattered to the floor, splattering drops of pale yellow seasoning across the linoleum floor. He turned from the table and left, leaving the carcass behind, a mangled heap of toasted brown flesh and snapped bones.

I spent hours, listening to the same, heartbreaking song. On repeat. Because it reminded me of you. If only I knew you'd tell me, what I wanted to hear... The next day.

Thunder clapped outside my window. Light illuminated the black sky, leaving blue imprints behind my eyelids when I blinked. I remembered back to my childhood, when my mother would scoop me up and wipe my tears during storms. She told me how thunder was just God bowling, and I believed it. I still like to believe that.

She picked the flower and ran her fingers across it's vain covered purple surface. A soft wind blew her hair, and cooled her shoulders. She held it's green stem in her hand, gently, and let the grass tickle her toes.

Love is violent. When we're apart, All I think about is you. When we're together, All I think about is you. I love you. You're everything to me.

His mustache brushed up against the megaphone speaker, flecks of spit spraying everywhere when he pronounced his "s's". The noise echoed around him, and it made him feel powerful, and strong.

I blew a hazy puff of smoke that had been in my cheeks out into the crisp fall air. I dropped the butt, and ashes fluttered as it fell. It hit the ground, red sparks still aglow. I crushed it with the tip of my boot.

A single tear ran down my cheek. I never wanted to do this. To be a killer. I approached the body slowly, and removed the bow from the wound, as dark blood spilled over the man's un breathing chest.

I waited there. The seconds and minutes elongated into an hour. A single, devastating, hour. I couldn't leave though. I kept telling myself...he might still come.
