when I first started out in advertising account executives were the tribe of Suits, the Enemy. We the Creatives, all disdained them, or at least pretended to when we were amongst each other. I was a true believer.
Executives are often creeps: why do I say that? envy? jealousy? fighting off feelings of inferiority. Account executives at advertising agencies are the enemy, guys who will sell out good ideas in a heartbeat to make the client happy, at least that's the way we all looked at it. By all, I mean the tribe of creatives. If we didn't see it that way, pretended to at least among ourselves.
