They sat facing each other in silence. Neither knew what to say. The events that took place the night before were tragic and no words were going to make it better.
They all stood around not looking at the bodies in horror, but at the same time there was a sense of understanding that resinated with everyone. The sense of discontent cut the silence like train barreling through the night.
I was watching the news last night and there they were. Darin and Angelique were involved in the police shootings in Seattle. They wanted to be sure that their message was clear, "we are not going to stand for discrimination in the force that is meant to protect us anymore. If they can't see that our lives matter as much as theirs or anyone else's, we are going to show them. The price for ignorance is always high."
I wish I could write a poem about clarify. I would like to be more creative than just throwing clarify into one sentence in a passage about how I wish I were more creative. Just to clarify, the next one will be better.
