As I rounded the corner, and the alter came into view, it struck me. I was getting married. There he was now, the man who I would spend the rest of my life with, standing, grinning and expectant at the end of the trail of flowers that I would have to trod over to reach him. People stood as they noticed me enter the room and a wedding song started to play. There was no going back now. Or was there?
I fumbled with one of the paperclips that were scattered over the surface of my desk. It was Christmas Eve, and my co-workers were slowly drizzling out of the office and towards their loved ones like a moth graduates towards a flame. I glanced out the window and into the street below. It was snowing, soft, white flakes drifting comfortably towards the earth, without a care in the world. I envied those snowflakes.
