She was a bit of a girlie-girl and a bit of a tom boy. As she got older she started to lean more to one side of the fence. She loved makeup, glitter, PINK, and boys. She just never found the love for Butterflies.
In her mind, he is her world. It's overly cliche for her to think this way, but she does. He saved her when she needed it most, and for that, she is forever connected to him. Whether they're in love, friends, or just acquaintances, he will always hold a huge chunk of her heart in his hands. He is her life, her very existence.
Pre-Approved for a credit card. Every young person gets excited when they start getting offers like that in the mail. They jumped at the opportunity, with no idea what they were getting themselves into. Slowly but surely they were digging deeper into debt. Sinking lower and lower until they couldn't see the top.
He was already off at boot camp. She was back home, still in high school. She loved him with all her heart and everyone could see that. Her teacher knew there was something different about her, which lead her to take a special interest in her. Throughout her whole senior year, her teacher acted almost like a "school mom." It was a little annoying at first, but the girl soon came to realize that her teacher was just trying to look out for her.
They got married. Normally, the next step would be to live together. They rented a room from a friend and their life started. It wasn't what she expected. She was in love with him, but not the way their life was going. She wanted to be domestic, but that wasn't going to happen if they had to live in someone else's house.
She was alone. She was surrounded by friends, but inside, she was alone. Her husband had been over seas for months, and she was alone. There were other men in her life. While her husband was gone those other men seemed to make themselves more and more of an option. She didn't appreciate them. They were pushing her, tempting her and it was hurting her. They didn't care.
She lies there in bed, next to the love of her life. They hadn't seen each other in over 9 months. She got all dressed up to meet him as he came home from Iraq today. They spent the whole afternoon together, but as night time rolled around, things changed. He fell asleep, she was awake in the dark, staring at the ceiling. What was he dreaming about? What was running through his mind today during the silent moments. He wont talk about it, she'll always be curious.
It had been years since they we sitting together in a room like they were today. She had butterflies in her stomach. No idea if he still felt the way he use to. Had he forgotten all the love they use to share for each other, or would every thing just snap back into place at any moment? There was only one way to find out.
He knew she had drank too much. He didn't seem to care. He helped her into the bedroom, and onto his bed. He wasn't worried that she was spoken for, or that she couldn't speak for herself at that moment. He had been waiting for this opportunity since he met her, and he was going to take it.
She was not excited about the move this time. Not excited one bit. Moving from such a beautiful new house into a horrible wasteland. There was nothing to be excited about. All she could think about was needing a change. Something needed to start going her way, she could not go on like this for the rest of her life.
