The sulight trickled in through holes in the roof, lighting up her honey hair, illuminating her white dress. The child hummed obliviously, not even realizing it was daytime. Something hit the roof with a thud. She paused and then turned her head towards the noise. Despite the sunlight, her gray eyes saw nothing.
The chatter filled her mind, blocking out all logical thought. It was the voices, again. They were back. She couldn't think, couldn't hear herself over their endless chatter...
She left him standing there, all alone. Again. She always left, in the end. It was her nature to do so. She never could understand that he would never leave her, so she left to avoid being deserted. In the end, he could stand it no longer, and he left her.
