The footage played over and over again before her eyes. She couldn't keep her fingers off the replay button even though she didn't really want to watch the clip a seventh time. She could not believe what was being played out in front of her eyes. This must be some mistake. There was no way that was him. No. It couldn't be.
The national anthem played on the loud speakers, blasting through the entire stadium. The dreams of those on the field were fulfilled in those few moments. The opportunity to do what one loves and represent one's nation was presented before them today; many that dream of this day, yet very few will ever reach it.
The two stood there facing each other, each refusing to blink or look away. Two very dogmatic human beings locked in a heated debate that had since turned to silence. Neither was willing to waiver from their opinion. They would have to agree to disagree.
Feelings and emotions swept over her like a hurricane through the warm summer breeze. The empty beach surrounded her as she let herself fall entranced by the sound of the ocean. The solidarity of the beach was the one thing that had managed to comfort her in such a difficult time.
