Mocha stared at the mural, deep in thought.
She had always been sort of modest about her abilities, but she didn't really want the divinity that Asterisk had. It wasn't right to her, and honestly, she wasn't ready for THOSE kinds of responsibilities.
The gears kept spinning. Clockwork gazed at them, wide-eyed and filled with wonder.
She'd been protecting these gears for...geez, centuries now. It was hard to believe she managed to keep them running for so long.
She smirked to herself and put her hands on her hips. "Well, looks like it's time for another tune-up."
"Hahahaha...hahaha..."
Nothing was right. It was too much. He grasped the sides of his head, wanting to scream but no sound coming out. Was this what madness was like? A parasite that never seemed to leave?
She was hovering.
Asterisk looked down at the bewildered young boy, her black, starry eyes simple and inviting. "You don't need to look so afraid, you know," she said softly. "You are here to be comforted."
