I took a step forwards.
"Easy does it," My friend called to me. "Nice and steady."
I took another step and wobbled a bit. Out of panic I jumped down. My friend sighed.
"[my name], if you want to learn tightrope walking you have to LEARN it!"
I sighed. Oh well.
The tree was adorned with beautiful, shining golden lights, but now was possibly the worst time to see something as amazing as it. The dreadful mood I was in could not have been worsened at all by seeing this fabulous tree, because all the memories in that moment rushed back to me, and, overwhelmed by them, I closed my eyes and water trickled down my face.
Oh, I miss you, Nele. I miss you so much already.
I handed the autograph back to the girl, who had a smile spread across her face.
"Here you are," I say, and she runs, giggling, back to her mom, like all the other fans do, except the boys, who just lean against the poles nonchalantly.
