The barren nuclear wasteland was forbidden not by law, but by the simple fact that nothing could last long in that area. The legacy of Chernobyl would be remembered for much longer here than anywhere else.
It's rather strange when people wear ridiculous amounts of eyeliner. I don't really get the point of it. I mean, I can understand it when you're in ancient Egypt and you use a mineral called kohl to protect your eyes from the sun. That's about the only reason, though.
The temporary camp had been abandoned for an untold amount of time. Whoever had used it had clearly moved on, found a better life. Apparently, temporary wasn't so temporary after all.
The white paisley bandana flapped in the hot wind, the only sign of any survivors in the village. That signal was the only thing that kept the search-and-rescue party from reporting that the entire mission was to be called off. Maybe, just maybe, there was hope.
The deadbolt rattled ferociously. She wasn't sure if it would hold out much longer against the raging dogs that had found their way out of the shelter's "problem" compound. If those dogs got into the office and got their teeth into those papers, it would all be over.
The trailer veered dangerously off course behind the moving truck. The entire contents of the family library were about to come crashing down to the ground, completely at the mercy of the April wind.
There are all sorts of gadgets nowadays that can do pretty much anything you want them to. It sounds rather obvious, but it's actually really important to appreciate all of this technology. Anything you want can be called a gadget, if you think about it, as long as it does something specialized more efficiently than normal.
Determination. If you want to do anything in life, you have to be determined. You won't do anything if you aren't fully committed and determined that you're going to do it, no matter what obstacles you come across. Determination is the will to keep going. Apparently this computer is determined to keep me from posting. I am determined to just keep refreshing the page until my determination wins out over that of an inanimate object. Do computers even have determination?
Strength. A necessary quality for anyone who wishes to survive human life. All of us have some innate strength of spirit, allowing us to just move on from any negative events and just keep going on with life.
Egos are usually largest in people who have not done well in life otherwise. It's sort of like what I call Napoleon Syndrome, when people who are not very confident try to put other people down and think that they're just the best people in the universe. People sometimes do this just to feel good about themselves. Actually, that's always why they do this. This computer has a huge ego because it thinks I don't deserve to post just because I don't have a digital form of memory built in.
