she was sad. she was sad, and he was sad. two sad teens dragging their feet through a sick, sad world, pulling their eyes across their surroundings, taking it all in just to let it seep back out. she was sad. he was sad too, until he met her; that day, everything flipped.

When it's dark outside,
And all the world
Has slowed to a halt,
And the darkest darkness
Shrouds the clouds,
I go outside
And light a lantern
To guide me home.
upstairs, in the attic. in the attic are treasures unseen to mankind. they've been there, oh, since like forever. every generation has something to offer. a time capsule in your own home. from phonographs to 8-tracks. what will you discover?
when i escape into writing, time slows down and the world seems to disappear around me. i dont see or hear, i just think. and write. and repeat.
I ran. They were calling me, begging for me to return. I ran faster. I could hear their shrieks of beckoning. I ran until my feet were on fire. I ran and I ran and I ran...until I reached the ice cream truck at the end of the block.
"I'd like to discuss something with you.
"what do you like and dislike about yourself?" she said, with a solemn look on her face. she was self-concious and wanted to know if other people felt the same way about themselves.
"sometimes the things i hate most about myself are the things i luv the most.
"My height. Sometimes, people think im older than i actually am. But in volleyball, it means i always get the best positions, and i get to play front row."
the trees towered above me, making me feel smaller than i usually am. theyre thousands of years old and yet im still a minor. if they can live that long, why cant i?
it was an old, unused loft. dusty with age. falling apart. creaks from just the weight of its own mass. but underneath all of the grime and age, it held treasures so great, they were unexplainable to anyone.
it is indistinct whether i belong here or there. whether i am supposed to be short or tall. fat or thin. asian or caucasian. but god has a blueprint with my name on it, and i cant wait to see how i turn out.
the moon shone brightly in the sky, like a flashlight in a dark forest. but bigger. and brighter. and farther away. looking up at it made all my troubles seem so small...
