The crow falls from the sky and crashes to the earth. Deafening sound of a future unheard and undone.
What is left of me? A name, some memories. The future that stretches on forever. The things I don't control. A bird who once flew down to pick seeds from your open hand.
The edge of a nightmare. he could feel it, in the fading consciousness of sleep. He tugged at it, seeking the memory. When the memory finally hit him, he wished he had left it well alone.
Isabeau walked through the port, swaying her hips at the sailors that passed by. Of all of them, she picked him. He was handsome and he would make a good companion and fetch a good price when the time came to sell him. So she waved at him and she knew he would follow. Wherever he came from, he would never go back now.
My soul hangs on by a thread
I'm a Recession woman, a 21st century woman
I took a recess from my life
I'm in a dead end job
Pays the bills of a lost ambition
The tears of an empty womb
I disseminate my identity in my clothing
Her hoodie, her spartans
I escape into words
Into fantasy worlds

Who cares who I am?
I don't know either.
I stopped pretending to like football
You stopped pretending you care what's in my soul
Make my heartbeat race again
The say "trapped in a loveless marriage"
I got love; I settled for dramaless
Forget the fears makes you feel the joys
And the tears makes you feel the laughs
I take a step towards you
And you are gone
An image.gone
Into a smoke screen
I am left confused
Without you
Nowhere to turn
Nowhere to go.
She was his trophy girl. He kept her in his flat, his brave little pledge with the powerful instincts. She was valuable, he always said. Valuable. That was the best compliment he'd ever paid her. He did not know what else to say. He had never been in love before, much less acknowledged it. He meant for her to see though the facade but he was not ready to spell it out for her. And she grew to hate him in silence.
Your smile that does not come.
I wait for it, into the hollow of my womb.
I see your eyes, big wide blue eyes
And the hint of a smile, of a laugh
At the corner.
I wait and nothing happens yet.
Forgetting the pain and rage, he lost himself in the game now, chanting as the little girl ran after him. She was close on his heels and he ran down the steps to the market place. In one jump, she landed against his back and both children went tumbling down into the dust
"Remember," she said, "who I once was. I held all of your shadows into the palm of my hand and I was changed. Remember I have loved you for everything that was inside you. Remember I matched shadow for shadow and ray of light for ray of light. Remember that I, too, was your soulmate."
