Contrasting, different.
The whole world cherishes these ideas.
That we fight to keep original.
Segregation is becoming less of a problem.
As our differences.
Become one.
"I'm sorry," His whisper sends chills down my spine.
"It's fine." My voice comes out sharper than I expected. I was truly hurt. "No one was supposed to know."
He places his hand on my shoulder. "I won't tell anyone. Everything will be okay."
Oh, how I hoped he was right.
I glanced at the wrench at his hand, before doing a double take.
"Me?" I noticed my voice was weak with fear, and that my hands were shaking. I knew he had to finish off someone - and that his boss had told him to.
"I'm sorry" Were the last words I ever heard as he nailed the wrench into my skull.
"I'm sorry"
Shoot! I think, knowing that I will be late.
I reach to grab the reports off my desk, but...
"Oh no!" I yell as I spill coffee over the papers that I was supposed to present to my manager today.
Knowing that the papers were already ruined, I sink down in my chair and sigh heavily.
Who needs a job anyways?
The ivy-covered cottage stuck out in the haunted forest. A safe haven from all of the evil-minded creatures that I have been stuck living with.
Going up to the front steps of the small house, I gather my strength to press the doorbell.
"Hello?" A mysterious figure answers the door quickly... But I have already ran off to the evil depths of the forest again.
What can I say? It's my home now.
The supermarket was filled with suspicious characters... The staff all frowned upon me, as if they know what I did. Picking out the normal necessities I needed to live, I realized that what I did truly was horrendous.
Falling to my knees in the middle of the store, I bawled before feeling embarrassed. I didn't mean to do that. I didn't mean it daddy!
I didn't mean to kill you.
The day felt like a life-time.
There was nothing to look forward to. Nothing to do. Nothing to see.
Maybe this town isn't what I thought it was like.
It's lousy, I guess....
But my friends make the day more tolerable. :)
*Beep* *Beep*
The radar sounds through the night
It's steady sound like a heartbeat.
Consistent.
Never stopping.
*Beep* *Beep*
The sound is getting faster.
*Beep* *Beep*
Oh no! What shall I find?
Closing my eyes, I walk into the room.
And find....
Another radar.
The first-aid kit was lying at the bottom of my book-bag. Did I have the guts to do it? What if I hurt her?
She groaned, and rolled over, and I told her everything was going to be alright.
"Are you sure?" She asked, looking at me with her big brown eyes.
Nodding, I took out the tourniquet, and tied it around her leg, hoping that it would stop the flow of poison.
Still breathing heavily, her eyes closed.
OH NO!, I thought. I killed her!
Slowly though, her eyes blinked open, and she smiled at me.
"You saved me" She whispered. "You're my hero"
Sighing with relief, I then grinned at the words I always wanted to hear from her.
"You're worth saving" I whispered, before carrying her off into the sunset... Towards the nearest Ranger Station.
Ahh. The perfect vision of fall. Leaves creating that satisfying *crunch* beneath your feet, and trees changing to beautiful shades of red, orange and brown.
What could be better?
The next day, my thoughts were clouded by my to-do list. And I woke up extra early on Black Friday to get gifts for all of my nieces and nephews.
Now I only wish my world could be that serene again.
But I guess nothing lasts forever.
