I threw my water bottle into the recycling bin and just stared at the green plastic for a few minutes. With one swoop, I had made a difference. I had saved our Earth if not only a little bit. The wheels in my head began to churn and with that I turned on my heels and marched back into my economics classroom.
"I can make a difference," I said slowly to my teacher, "I can, and I will. And you know what else I'm going to do? I'm going to prove you wrong."
And with that I marched out of his class, out of that school, and into my life.
The gourmet food called to her and beckoned her nose with a childish taunt. He rags trailed behind her as she stepped through the glass doors.
'How can there be so much food when my friends and I have none?' she thought as her eyes glimmered with her new found treasure.
'Just one piece,' she thought as she tucked a warm loaf of bread into her pocket.
She tentatively opened the door, her barefoot barely touched the cold stone of the street corner before a harsh hand grabbed her wrist.
"Where do you think you're going?" The violent shop keeper growled.
