I think of our society. How we think that this society has a structure. Possibly.
Yet all we see is mess?
Structure in itself is neither good nor bad. Like a building.
But the trenches, the foundation, the root of the structure is where my thoughts linger.
Silence, and the fine balance between doormat and wisdom. Our tongues often lead to trouble, when unrestrained. Silence, can show strength. Yet in the same breath never speaking up, compromises our voice and character.
Interaction and an intertwining.
Connections.
Can we truly be involved and avoid connection?
Being involved means many things, but mostly it's being part of a story.
Silk representing in my mind delicate, smooth, rich and beautiful. How many things left in this world can be called those things? Our experiences are raw and real, imperfect...anything but smooth. Yet beauty still exists. Our experiences are still rich.
In South Africa though, we don't call it a barbeque... we call it a "Braai". It's pronounced "br-eye". It's such a thing here. A lekker thing. Lekker is South African slang for good, great, tasty.
The beach, where land and water meet. The line where I'm always standing in my dreams, looking at the waves. It's one of those places I will always love. Something about the beach means summer. Something about summer means, light and life.
The tables turn, they always do. Just as winter doesn't last all year. And in the presence of my enemies, a table is decked. Celebration, when dark as passed and morning has come. I rejoice, because winter doesn't last forever, and the tables always turn.
Burning. That pain in your chest when you've received really bad news and you swallow your tears so that your eyes only glisten. Either that, or too much spicy food.
Unhealthy, what a word. Do we even, in today's society, know what it means to be healthy? I mean really truly healthy? Everything lately seems so relative. Is health relative?
Savings is discipline. I learned it at an early age. What I never learned was investing. How easily these concepts apply to relationships or energy, do they? We save. We spend. We invest. What are we working towards?
