The little girl held hands with her father, his Reds cap placed on her head. It slid over her eyes and she giggled as he pulled it back up, kissing her on the nose. He picked her up and spun her around, the cap flying off her head and fluttered to the ground. He laughed and picked it up, carrying her to the car.
Shuffling up the aisle, past the cells, bending at the corner. The two men on either side of him verged on dragging the convict across the concrete floor, but resisted. The door stood bleakly ahead of the ragtag trio and the convict looked up, fear shining in his eyes.
Splash Splash SPLASH!
I giggle as the wave of water splashes into me. My mother sighs, grabbing me before I can run after my brother for retaliation.
"How many times have I told you kids," she grumbles, wiping off my jacket, "Don't splash in the puddles!

I grab the paper and rip it open, scanning the page with bright eyes. No, no, no, no, no, YES!
I scan the article, looking for names. Then I glow with pleasure. Being rated as one of the best actresses in town is a new, nice feeling.
All I can see is the dim flickering circle illuminated by my torch. But the others march beside me and all of them have torches and together all of our little circles create a large, dim light that we carry with us as we escape...
Patterns patterns- repeating and peating and repeating and on and on forever and there are patterns within patterns and all kinds of different patterns, on and on and on forever and ever, repeating and peating, patterns patterns...
"Please sign!" I cry desperately. The man stares at me in disgust and moves on.
"Someone! Anyone sign to help the poor and needy!" I wave the clipboard above my head and spread my arm out, welcoming the crowd who surely will donate a moment to scribble on my paper for a good cuase.
But no one comes forth.
I let my arms fall to my side and take a shaky breath. Without meaning to, a tear falls down my cheek. "Please," I whisper to no one in particular, "Please sign."
We have spent so long destroying in order to create, we have to remember we can save what we have and turn it into something just as new.
"But-" I protest. It's not my fualt. How does he not see that?
"Go!" the commander waves his arm wildly above his head and I flinch.
"But sir, this is everything to me and I honeslt didn't-"
"Get OUT!" he screams wildly, spitlle flying out of his mouth.
I turn and trudge out. I have been dismissed.
