It was a simple thought, hardly unique or groundbreaking. Yet from that simple thought grew actions that would change our nation in profound ways. From the moment the idea took hold and onward, we would not be the same people again.
He rarely got excited over anything. He always held the same stoic face and kept and even level voice. So this new him, this smiling, radiant, man who was almost glowing with excitement...It was new to me. I'd never known him to be so passionate.
The streets were vacant. A dusty wind coursed through the alleyways pulling scraps of torn paper and cloth with them. Where were the people? The loud, clamoring protesters shouting their obscenities about the law to be passed. They were to begin at the crack of dawn. But instead, on these streets were the silent riots...the only ones that ever lasted in the face of this new government.
You've said on several occasions that you don't think you're artistic. I would have to disagree. The fluidity of your movement, the timbre of your voice...all are done with a natural artistry that you won't find on canvas or in the notes of music.
