  2. I’ve picked up the acoustic guitar – literally – when I was younger. Strummed a few chords and put it down. Other friends picked it up and held it and made beautiful music. I teased them then, I envy them now. It’s never too late to learn, but I think I’d be hard-pressed to train my fingers to dance the way theirs do now.

  3. The acoustic guitar sang in the silence, it’s sad melody drifting through the still air and through the thin walls. It filled the stillness, but not the whole.

  4. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play acoustic guitar. Oh, it would be so easy to write songs. I’ve heard the process of songwriting is magical if you can play guitar or piano. You just strum a few chords and let the music takes you where it wants to go, and then the lyrics just come to you naturally, and I wish I could do that. It would give life more meaning to express it through music.

  5. His song was moving, it touched her, she wasn’t that kind of girl. The kind who sat around pining for guitar playing bad boys, she’d just as easily have no one or be alone. But he, he didn’t sing like someone who thought they were better than they were, he almost seemed afraid as if strumming the chords and singing along was nearly as nerve wracking as sharing his soul.

  6. I sit with my guitar, trying to come up with a simple song that will reach your ears over the clamorous noise of your day to day life. But all is silent… you probably wouldn’t hear it anyway.

  19. lilting. simple, cheery and free. uninhibited without the ties of sheet music or a full band. It’s the stripping of a song, the exposure of a verse. Nudity. IT can leave you breathless or hopeless but it shows the soul of the song. A whisp and a dream, a hope and a flash. brief but true.

She simply smiled gently and continued on playing her peaceful melody as if the world was alright.

  27. The acoustics in the gym weren’t the best. In fact, they were terrible. Notes rang forever- not as if anyone would ever hear them anyway. The next morning during the assembly, the buzz of conversation would drown out everything, and any scrap of talent would be lost among giggles and gossip and burping noises. But for now, it was quiet, perfectly silent. He raised the instrument to his lips and played.

    Shannon
