  12. Shopping centres have aisles, aisles full of food. There are several aisles in each shopping centre, including aisles such as the fruit and vegetable aisle, the dairy products aisle, and my personal favourite, the confectionery aisle. Aisles were a great invention, because they are a convenient way to group different types of items in a store so that they are easier to locate, which is very necessary in the busy and hectic lives of the people of today. I congratulate the person who invented the concept of the ‘aisle’. Very good thinking!

  14. the aisle;

    a handsome man awaits us all,
    somewhere, he is there
    with all our unspoken words
    tucked
    into his pockets

    and
    our tattered thoughts
    poking out
    from the hems
    of his dress trousers.

  21. The spaces between the aisles were small, just narrow enough to fit one person, or two if they were facing each other. I sat down in the pew and sighed. it’d been a long while since I’d been in a church. Weddings and funerals had been a large and memorable part of my childhood but it seemed that the times for religious services grew farther apart as I grew older.

  26. down the supermarket aisle we walk. it’s like life. there’s a straight path to be taken, the destination is straight ahead. the cash register. but along the way, we pick up some sweets, some headache mads, some fruits and cheese and wine. we get distracted. we zigzag. we drop some, we take some. it’s okay, down the aisle we walk, it’s the journey. it’s life.

  36. We followed the aisle at the end of the cinema hall. Climbing all those stairs to the back. That’s supposed to be the best seats of the hall and I’ve never been able to figure out why, except for the fact that you can’t get pissed off at people talking behind you. And if anyone bugs you, they’re sitting in the front and you can easily throw popcorn at them.
