the alumni of a university is the studenets who have already graduated. it is very important for the univeristy or school to keep in touch with the alumni and vice versa, because the university should always look after its students and the students should aways lok after the university

I do not know how to feel about being an alumni next year. Adam is, and he cannot handle it. What if I cannot either? He handles himself by coming back, pretending he never left. But there is nothing left for me to come back for. What if it changes me?
Lili
I dont know what alumni is. Like a graduate? Good for you, you accomplished something in your life. Yay.

Young and old, they stood at attention as the ancient tome was carried into the room. “Sisters and brothers,” the leader intoned as he held the book aloft. “We gather here tonight, at the stroke of midnight to pay homage to our predecessors. They braved ridicule and censure to gather and learn. And this sacred text was the first!” The entire room swirled into motion as the alumni brought out their copies. “Now,” the leader cried. “Let us sing the ancient songs!” They erupted as one: “Now is the month of Maying, When Merry Lads Are Playing fa la la la la la la la fa la la la la la….”

The alumni decided to continue the silence on the initiation rites. It wouldn’t look good for any of them were the truth of their freshman year be known, or that they had continued the tradition when they were in a position to end it. Silence. Friend of wrong, enemy of victims.

A word associated with all of the stuffy old book learned bullshit of a thousand million crappy papers and i have to be the one that heads the operations of their goddamn association?
Tonight she didn’t sign in
She walked directly down the corridor
Parted the beaded curtains
Inhaled the carcinogen syrup
And tried to choke down her smile
What would be her next customer of the night
Tapped his pudgy misogynistic fingers on his pant leg
But tonight she nodded towards another girl
Because tonight she is an alumni of the streets
Maybe tomorrow of collage.

Some thing to do with college. I’m pretty sure it either means a class, or a group of staff of teachers. I’m not quite sure. Maybe it just means everyone at the school. I’m so clueless when it comes to things like college. I have no idea. Maybe it doesn’t even apply to anything relating to college.

I already wrote about this one in the Bender post……alumni is like a dyslexic’s way of saying illumin, which is short for illuminated in the world of grekor the magnificent flying putrescent, pubescent mongoloid potato. Only the flying alumnist of sheraerae with his various valedictorian and magna cum laude scrolls and sex toys can hope to pass the time needed to allow the potato the proper amount of decomposition time so as to be suitable for consumption by small, superflous, dirty, dewormed children. This will ensure proper re-worming of said children.
i think of the college that i will go to. i’ve always wanted to be somebody and college is the place where i think it will start. i’ve always been college obsessed and if i dont go i’ll be a hobo.
Francesca
i’m excited to be an alumni. but scared. being an alumni means that you’re done, that you have nothing left to do somewhere and so you’ve left, now left only to call yourself an alumni and reminisce about good times. i’m scared. but i think i’m ready.
Last night I became a college graduate. I now join the other 22,000 alumni of Ottawa University. I got my BA in elementary education, and will now be searching for a job. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

alumni are the prestigious ones, the one everyone asks after as soon as they know your place of learning, it’s never the curriculum or the faculty, just ‘who went there?’, why? yes, we may have the man who invented radar but since you haven’t heard of him it’s not impressive really is it…?
Rory
High school graduate takes a bit of a side turn from his family’s plans for him, and decides that the party lifestyle is what he wants. After a period of fun he quickly begins to realize, that in order to regain his life, he needs to learn to differentiate between the factors of fun, spirituality, and proper planning.

Alumni at Purdue are the driving-force behind what it means to be a Boilermaker. From Neil Armstrong to Drew Brees to the hometown family farmer, they are the people who constantly remind us that a bigger world is outside of West Lafayette, waiting for us to walk on the moon, win the Super Bowl, or Feed the World.

I was always told that I would never make the alumni team.
The coach was too strict.
The teammates were stuck up.
The scouts were close to scarce.
But those things just made me want it that much more.
Because I like the impossible.
I call myself an alumna, but the truth is I never graduated. Does that count? Can I still call myself that? I feel that it’s misleading. That I’m just another college dropout.

I want to look back at my years at college and think, “Damn. All those kids who walk across those quads, go to those games, take the same classes…they all want to be like me.”
Yasmin Gentry
Albert Einstein High School. I graduate from there 2 years ago and it was probably some of the best and worst moments of my life. It was there that music became a part of me. It was there that theatre became alive to me, but it was also there that I fell into a dark, dismal world of drugs, sex, and alcohol.

Alumni. Reminds me of old. Forgotten. The past. It reminds me of the people who just can’t let go of the glory days. Common people, move on with life, High School is just a small stepping stone.
the audience clapped with disgust as the man walked swiftly to the podium. none of them wanted him there. they all knew it, and he knew it too. the alumni was un-welcomed and uncomfortable.
one of the men sitting at his table, and an old jock buddy, yelled, “SPEECH!”
so he did just that. he firmly grasped the microphone and began his heartfelt apology to all the people in his old high school that he had bullied. which consisted of every living being in the room.
sometimes i sit and think about when i will be the alumni of my school. i will look back, wondering why high school went as fast as it did. so many memories, and barely enough time until i moved onto college. my class will always be in my thoughts. i will always remember what people were the funniest, which kids were weird, and the time that cute guy talked to me. i blink, and im going back for a reunion. all of a sudden, i turn around, and my own children are in college. Then, i sit down and remember that thinking about when i will be out of high school is stupid. i should enjoy it now so that i will have lots to remember when i look back.

Being in choir is so much fun because it isn’t like football or most sports and many other programs that you do in high school. In choral groups you get to being in choir forever.
At Christmas you can go back and sing the alleluia chorus with the choir

Oh I am going to cry to see my first Grand Child Graduate from my alumni.

this summer i will meet several alumni from the college I am currently attending. They will be snobs, because that is the kind of person who goes to this school: a snob. They will party too much and drink too much and smoke weed. They won’t take anything seriously.
Or, they will be great.
Charlie
They spent years here, they became friends, acquaintances, or never had the opportunity to meet. The had their lives figured out. They were going to be something. 20 years later…they amounted to nothing.

Alumni are students who used to go to a school. Then they go back to that same school. Last week my brother and a lot of his friends who are alumni from my school came back to the school. All of the teachers and students were very happy to see them.

The alumni of most colleges and universities are concerned with their alma mater to the extent that it is a reflection of them and their youth. They relate their days at the institution as a landmark in their life’s story.
What I thought was pretense, hubris, wrinkles, neck folds, wealth. What I met working at my dad’s office was energy, smiles, youth, intelligence…I wish he was still in school.
She hadn’t been back for seventeen years. A lifetime to some. Yet she knew the bricks, she knew the letting of the school, faint and familiar in her memory, like an old friend.

Today went by grocery shopping,
ordinary day nothing shocking.
Buying my veggies, bump into a friend,
what a surprise, let’s make it a trend.
Next week I bumped into another, she had seen him too,
Apparently he’d been alumni hopping.
Elementary school, middle school, high school and college. You grow up constantly learning things then eventually you’re “set free”. Really though, you are always learning knew things whether or not you become an alum. Continue to grow.
I am excited to be a member of the alumni of Hofstra University. I am excited to graduate and go in to the world, and be a real person. When ever I see or here about the alumni of my current college, I think, they seem so old, so adult, and there lives are tangible in a way that mine definitely is not. I am excited to have that. Excited, but terrified.
