  1. sometimes i wonder which is more difficult; asking or answering? everyone has a million questions and thoughts running through their mind that they would love to ask at any given time. similarly, everyone has a million answers running through their mind that they would love to give.

but asking that one persistent question is hard. answering that one answer is harder. there’s the way you want to answer, there’s the way you should answer, and there’s the one perfect answer. so, let me ask this: why isn’t there an easy answer? and…why isn’t there an easy question?

  2. He wanted to marry me. I was terrified–not in the typical way, either. I wanted desperately to not have to CHOOSE. Every choice murders its opposite choice, its alternate future. In the future where I said yes, I felt the future where I said no…dying. I hate the asking–I hate the cusp.

It was so much easier when I was a sub.

    Regina Clack
  9. Why are you asking me to write about asking? One can only assume I’m supposed to write a story about a question. I’ve always wanted to ask tour group guides and people like that what the stupidest question they’ve ever been asked was.

    Alicia Sauers
  10. Asking is getting an answer or even leaving you more confused. It all varies. Asking someone for a dollar, simple. Asking someone why they’ve done something to you, not so simple. Asking is complex yet so simple.

I want to write stories again, and not just essays.

  19. Asking for the correct change is not too hard to do. My husband asked me to marry him in Melbourne, Australia. I asked for a pay rise from my work and they denied it. I then asked myself whether I really wanted to stay at that job. Then I asked myself some more. Then I asked my husband. I asked, asked, asked. Asking is not hard to do. You just say the words and ask your question.

    Patricia
