  7. I hate asking for assistance. It seems to be one of those horrible aspects of life that those of us who value our independence don’t want to admit to – whether it’s finding a man to help you start the lawn mower, needing a strong wrist to open one of those extra stubborn marmalade jars which won’t yield, or doing some heavy physical work that is simply beyond the capacity of most women. Yet there are some people who are always asking for something without giving anything in return, wanting State Benefits without being prepared to search for work, wanting a Council flat without ever making the effort to save up and try to afford a home of their own, or children asking their parents for money to buy yet another technical gadget. Always asking. Never giving !

I shook nervously, unsure of what I did. “Dr. Dre has only one good song! THAT SONG IS KNOWN AS FUCK WIT DRE DAY!!” Barry and I did not talk anymore after that incident. He’s a bit tempermental, I think. I just don’t return his calls.

  19. When you’re wanting to know about something, you’d ask about it. Asking is the act of forming a question about whatever you would like to know. Obviously asking usually happens when someone is inexperienced in the subject they’re asking about. Answering? That’s a whole new shabang.

  28. I’ve been asking God to tell me what to do. I mean, do I stay here, do I go, do I fight for love? And then after asking all those questions I start to question everyone else. I start asking everyone else why this and why that. Then I ask the love of my life why we didn’t get married. Then I ask the guy I’m with when is he gonna leave so I can have the married life I want.

  30. Asking for things is a good thing to do because people cant read minds and if they wanto give you the things you need then they have to know what they are, But you cant always ask for everything there has to be balance in your asking or you will seem selfish to others. So you must make sure that you are willing to give as much as you are asking for!

    Megan
  31. Asking a question. Sometimes they’re not even questions. Why do people ask questions that they already know the answer to? Doesn’t it just make people feel worse about themselves? The speaker himself is also wasting breath, just to make another person feel bad. There is no point in asking rhetorical questions.

    ScottSimpson
  36. asking is so futile, because you already know what youre going to hear, or at the very least what you want to hear. listening is so much more important than asking, because holding a question in your mind is nowhere near as significant as the possibilities that may result from the question, from that singular reaction that occurs at that moment in time, keyed to that question in the recipient’s mind .

  37. when i was asking a question to kelly i had to ask it in a certain why so that she would not miscontstrue what i was trying to tell her. you see kelly is a person who takes what others say to her quite literally so if you were to tell her to stop having a horse should would respond as if she just gave birth to one.

  38. do you mean we are still on the subject of asking? For heaven’s sake, I am asking you, are we still talking about asking? I certainly thought when I hit go this time that I would get another word because I wrote quite a lot on the subject of asking and just about spilled my vocabulary of such words that would assist in asking simple questions for simple answers to arrive at solutions to simple problems. For that reason I don’t mind asking again since it is for simple reasons. Asking is the very best way, and a is for ask, s is for seek and k is for knock, so ask, seek, knock is my motto, and the very act of asking is the epitome of humility, showing that you don’t mind asking and admitting that you need an answer to a specific problem.

    Maxine Bersch Lovern
  39. asking is a very good word. people get something from someone else by asking.
