  1. People assume that if you are in a relationship with a person, you are totally happy. That is so far from true. I am in a relationship with a guy that I have cheated on twice now, but I can’t break up with him because I’m too scared, I’m too nice, I’m too stupid. Instead, I choose to be miserable and I cannot help myself. I feel bad for the poor kid. I feel like a slut.

  2. Don’t assume you know me. Fat, skinny, pretty or pretty ugly, I’m a person. Don’t judge me, don’t judge anyyone. No one is ever exactly how they seem.

  3. to assume really isn’t a good idea at all. When you assume there are always false pretenses about someone or something… When i first learned about the word assume i was told that you will make an “ass out of U and ME.” Isn’t that clever? I thought it was…

  4. it’s always in your head – growing. a monster, bigger than life. feeding off a thought, an idea, an instance. to assume is to make believe. i made believe. to make you believe.

  5. We all know what that does. But beyond that? It means that you donm’t even take the time to listen to someone else’s opinion or comments. Like you automatically become this selfish eating machine that thinks your own words and thoughts are superior to all others. Like you would win the war hands down if only you could get everything you wanted to say out. So don’t assume. Listen. And then…

  6. Everyone assumes. Assuming makes an ass out of me and you. or you and me rather. I don’t understand why people can’t just be truthful and ask someone else instead of just assuming all the time. The world would be a better place if people didn’t go around assuming all the time. Assume is a bad word. Should be banned forever!

    Kelsi
  7. Old blues players assume the worst has happened and If they tell you, you’ll know how to avoid it. Or at least how to deal with it… bourbon, scotch and beer if you can find it, a guitar if you can’t. They’re benevolent.

    Jaye

  18. It was all fun and games until that point. That’s when it had all gone awry. Our adventure was over, the beginning of the end was at hand, and I knew that it was too late to say goodbye. But as scary as this seemed to me, I felt more ok with it then I had anticipated.

  20. How can I just know this? How was I to know that your heart wasn’t beating with mine, it was beating with his? Alone, I will forever sit alone at this desk and write stories of you. Dear heavens, this is what I deserve for assuming you truly loved me.

    Alyssa

    K.K
  23. making assumptions has not gotten me far, only gotten me sick. slipped into my psyche and ruined my mindset, my attitude. altered my perceptions and forced my imagination into overdrive, running wild with masochistic fabrications, twisting the littlest nothings into massive somethings. it is perhaps one of my greatest flaws — a flaw of every individual, i suppose.

    lauren
  24. you assumed I loved you. I didn’t. I never meant to lead you on, I just liked the feeling you gave me. ‘Til this day I don’t know if I regret it. Probably only hurting you, if anything.

    emmie
  25. Youo know what they say about assum? I assumed you did.

There is little to assume these days. We really aren’t able to make many assumptions. The more you assume, the more you take your life into your own hands. Although we have to assume all sorts of responsibility.

    Scott
  26. i hate assuming things but we all do. i wish we could all change this shit. but we can’t. sometimes assumptions are right and that’s great. but a majority, well i’ll even say half of the time we’re wrong. ad it’s those times we’re wrong that tend to fuck us over.

  30. It’s never the best thing to assume something about a person before you actually meet them. My college roommate had pictures of her on facebook with her drinking and smoking and she was the so called homecoming queen. She is the nicest, most generous, coolest person I have ever met. We are such good friends. Don’t ever judge.

    Brittany
  31. Assume that I’m okay.
Assume that I’ll tell you waht’s wrong.
Assume that I’m safe in my room.

    But you assumed wrong.

    You always make assumptions,
    Assuming rather than knowing.
And then you wonder why you’re always wrong.

The scars on my arms should tell you what’s wrong,
    And my ribs jutting out,
But still you assume I’m fine,

    But you assumed wrong.

Now you can assume all you want,
    Because I’m not here.

    Rik

    Confound you and wow you
But now that I’ve found you
    I’m not so sure
    You wrongly assume
    But rightly suspect
    And you’ll never beleive
    What’s coming up next

    Kristine
