  1. The only short stories I can think about regarding a “bandage” are all sad, depressing. I don’t really want to think about injuries that need fixing. It’s too hard, sometimes, to figure out *how* to fix what’s wrong…and even harder to acknowledge that perhaps it can’t be fixed.

  2. wait for the birds
    to fly
    wait for the rest
    of your life

    cover your wrists
    with plastic
    and let the dogs
    run past it

    keep band-aids in
    your pocket
    and never let them
    off it

    for who knows when
    a broken heart
    will need a mend
    and when you’ll be
    the star
    in the eyes
    of my glorious
    surprise

  3. the girl cried. tears streamed down her pale cheeks. her mother sat beside her, holding her small hand. “my dear girl,” the mother said, “some things cannot be fixed with a bandage.”

    Kayla
  4. Used to cover up so many injuries…within and without. So many times has blood stained it’s pristine white cloth. But behold, the wounds do heal in time. And the bandage makes it so. Blood loss and pain…just a memory.

  7. healing power. band aid brand. i never have enough bandaids and i always have to ask someone else for them. i don’t use them too much though. i’m pretty cautious for the most part. i don’t even have any good scars and really at that rate, i don’t have that many good stories to go along with them. i need more bandaids, more bandages, more stories

  8. I hurt myself today and I felt it. There is a cut on my arm. On my wrist. I tried to cover it with a bandage, but no luck. People can tell. They say I’m emo. I dont even know what that means. Oh well, I have a scar to look forward to.

  9. I sit and watch and ride the clock. Healing time is a soothing lie. Tear the bandage off in one swift motion.

  10. ouch! band aids were the quick mom’s answer to a bandage. ANyone who has ever tried to bandage an appendage – either they’re own, or a small child, or a four legged friend – knows that you need something to secure one end of it. What better than a sticky side? Tape with pad, can’t beat it!

  11. Bandage is a fun word. How old is the band? you never know. Put a bandage on your wrist. Just in case. Make sure it has fancy pictures though. You cant have a bandage without that. I recently found out if you use vodka, it will make the residue left from the bandage go away quicker. How amazing is that. I drank a lot of vodka last night incidentally.

  12. When I was 3 years old, I smashed my head on the arm rest of a metal chair. Although I should have gone to the hospital, my father decided to wait 2 hours until my mother came home from work. In order to stop the bleeding, he put a small finger bandage on my head. Clearly, he is fantastic in a crisis.

  13. there’s a little piece o cotton stuck where it shouldn’t be…i have calmed down now i realise, as the cotton sinks into the keys and disappears. The first day she rested, the remaining 351 she fought. I hope.

  14. A bandage is really unnecessary most of the time. Our bodies make their own bandages. We call them scabs. But I guess that they make us feel a little more comfortable. And isn’t that really what life comes down to most of the time? Just feeling a little more comfortable?

    Batsheva
  15. Bandages can be tangible or metaphorical. Right now, I think of bandages as the temporary ventures I undertake to fulfill passions I don’t yet possess, ways to conceal a bleeding spirit whose direction was lost long ago. I think of loves faded, hobbies tossed aside, and artwork long forgotten.

  18. we all fall. and sometimes we fall harder than expected. sometimes a bandage is all you need. sometimes you need much more. something you can’t touch or see, but is very much there. it’s apart of life this falling and getting hurt. there is nothing you can really do about it but pick yourself up and dust off.

    Samar Jurdi
  19. My heart is bleeding. And no amount of bandage can patch up the wound that you’ve made in my heart. I’ve cried over you too many times. Maybe it is really time to move on… to find someone who wouldn’t hurt me as much as you did. I always thought physical pain would be the worst but you’ve proven me wrong. Your indifference still hurts me… like I never mattered.

You’ve crushed my heart. And now, it’s too late. You’re too late.

    Trina

  24. The bandage wove around the neck of the bloodied, holding in the thoughts and woes he had and all of the time he couldn’t think of anything except the scream of the woman as she descended off the cliff into the river below. it was one of the worst moments of his life, how had he not seen it coming, the death of his wife?

    Nick

  26. I am not thinking. I am not thinking about what I am thinking means. I am not thinking about a bandage stretched across skin, pulling the two sides around the cut together. I am not thinking about how you are doing the same to me. I am not thinking of pain, and I am not thinking of blood. I am not thinking. Not at all. I promise.

  29. Bandages heal cuts I guess. But do we need to heal them? Cuts must be exposed to air, and it makes them feel better. If we cover up our wounds, we make ourselves one big crevice.

    Maud
