  1. The bandana was wrapped tightly around the mans head. It held back his greasy blond hair and symbolized his loyalty to the group. This bandana was a symbol and a promise to always be loyal and obliging to the rules and commands made by the leader. for so many years he had been unquestioning to the reasons behind the commands. The leader was godlike and provided a role model to those of us who don’t have someone to look up to. Because of this he always obeyed the commands and never broke a rule. Even when this meant stealing from the helpless vendor, or beating that homeless man till he bled from his throat. It was what the leader had asked for and it was just something he must do. But now as he sat with his back against the cold concrete wall with a knife in his hand and the sirens sounding in the distance he started wondering why did he do this? How did it start? He was only 17 and about to face decades in jail all because of him. The menacing man who insists on being

  11. She walked down the road, a warm breeze lifting her hair from her shoulders. Her aviators protected her lonely eyes from the blowing dust. Her surroundings were desolate, Arizona dryness spreading out around her for miles. She felt like a whisper.
At a small crooked white cross stuck in the dirt of the side, she stopped. The sun beat down her head, and the dust swirled around her feet. She dug into her shorts back pocket and pulled out a worn American flag bandana. She held it out at arm’s length and saw speckled blood stains in the white stars and the white stripes. The breeze picked up into a wind, and the bandana was yanked from her grip and was carried away into the horizon.

  21. She had accidentally left her blue bandana in Sydney and felt like she’d lost a child. That bandana symbolised so much. Freedom. Freedom and errrr, well that’s about it really. She remembered driving around in the van, all over Australia wearing that bandana. The window down, a cool breeze and a vast orange nothingness all around her.

  22. Black and white. It was always there, a constant reminder of the past. A constant omen that we were never quite safe. Reminding us why we hid, who we hid from. What we were covering up. If I could die without putting one on again I’d be happy. But that can never be.

  23. Bandana. Child days when we were pirates, with makeshift swords to duel with, and you would always win. Because I’d let you win. Because I loved you then.
Now you still live across the street, but I don’t see you anymore. I don’t see your family, we want nothing to do with each other.
I still have my wooden sword somewhere, and I think my bandanas have been shoved inside a drawer–what do you say we take them back out again, for old times sake?
    Maybe sometime this summer?
You said yes, of course, soon, but you never meant it.

  25. His bandana was green, now. It had been yellow when she knew him last. It was strange, that it wasn’t the same bandana. He hadn’t changed otherwise. To look at, anyway. Maybe he had a brand-new personality, represented to the world in a different bandana-hue.

  26. Bandanas are not something I wear very often. Genrally, if I do, it will be to keep my hair up for cooking and cleaning. In the first case, it keeps my hair out of the food. In the second, it keeps it away from my eyes (it stings when it gets in them). I’m very practical, aren’t I?

  27. Sweltering beams of sunlight hit my brow and I’m forced to wipe it again and again with my red bandana to keep the salt out of my eyes.

  28. Normal headbands just aren’t comfortable. So, I wore bandanas as headbands for a while, until some grumpy lady in my school’s office yelled at me to REMOVE MY BANDANA AT ONCE. Oh yeah, because I’m just such a gangster, that I feel the need to express my loyalty the yellow polka dot gang with my headband. (and then bake cookies on weekends). Way to worry about the stupid stuff, administration.

  29. At first I saw bannana, the semi ripe bunches of fruit in costco that we take home to ripen on the counter. Bandana makes me think of the scarf with the white twisty scrolls on it, red or blue with white details or the little pink one folded so neatly in my daughter’s dresser drawer..

His leather jacket also matches his bandana. I like cheese. I love my boyfriend. He is so amazing and sweet and he loves me for me. 38. There’s the clue in the corridor. It felt like it to Nila. The white bandana tied loosely to the handle of this aged oak door–the door with the frightening symbol. The exact door she was instructed by the hierophant to enter into. Giving her only a blade to travel with, he told her she would know what to do. Now she was beginning to question to what edge of reality she is willing to reach pass. Blood began to drip from her breast…

  39. I like bandanas. I wish that I could wear them and that they would look cute on me. I like all of the colored bandanas. There are red ones, blue ones, army ones, etc. I wish I knew how to style them though so they would look good on me. Bandanas are a fun way to express yourself. I usually wear them in the summer during camp activity days.
