  3. “Back to basics” is a commonly echoed phrase, particularly in, well, everything. The fashion industry uses it most prominently. “This collection goes back to basics by doing x y and z.” Who cares?
    If we as humans were to go back to “basics,” we’d be running around forests, without words and with utter savagery. Lord of the Flies is not an appealing life for me.

  5. It came down to one basic fact; I need to drink blood. And it has to be live, human blood. All of the new, politically correct vampire stories would have you believe that we can drink pig’s blood, or blood that has been donated to a blood bank. We can’t. We can only take it one way, and that’s fresh from the vein. Of course, that has its downsides too. In basic terms, that means one thing; we drink the blood, and whatever is in the blood. That could include drugs and alcohol, but more importantly for us, the HIV virus. We were immortal until that came along.

  7. There is nothing basic about writing about one word. There is so much you could say about it. I mean where do you even begin. I would start by saying say basically that this whole exercise is a great tool to practice brainstorming

  8. I hate having to do basic things over and over. It gets really boring. When I was in public school this happened a lot. It doesn’t happen much anymore.

  15. simple, clean, fun interesting doesnt get enough credit there is nothing wrong with being so. Many people try to hard to not be, I am and love it. I wish more people were then I wouldn’t feel so alone. Pretty good

  17. it is in the fundamentals of life that we all need the basics to survive. but survival of body alone is to rot away and die. to live, we must be spirtually free and use our minds as well as hearts. to have goals, to fall in love, to see beauty in all things. that is living. that is basic life.

  19. To shoot to kill. That was the basic idea of the mission, and yet somehow I had managed to screw it up within seconds. A shot to the target’s shoulder was all I managed from my position, much to my own shame and humiliation. I’d be paid in full for this later.

  20. Basic. Well in my opinion, basically, nothing in life is very basic. Sure all things are constituted by some fundamentally basic element, and perhaps it is only myself that complicates them, but I would say overall nothing is very basic. My relation with the world, with people, with the universe, it’s all very complicated. I would say that the fundamental reason for this is that nothing is STATIC, so nothing is BASIC over time.

  22. Elementary Composition is a supposedly basic English course at Indiana University, or at least it should be since it is the introductory course to English. The problem with the course is not that the concepts are sophisticated, it is that they are SO basic, yet the professors attempt to make it a tough course, thereby r i smells sex n candy hur

  24. basic is such a simple word. its basic. that was a pretty stupid thing to say but I don’t care because this has nothing to do with smarts. Basic I just ran out of things to say so I’ll just write whatever I’m thinking of, kind of like what I;m doing now, I’m on aim and i don’t know why i said that but its whatever, time is almost up.

  36. I never wanted more than I had. Things were so much easier that way. I was content, confident, comfortable. I wish I had never met him. He turned everything upside down, shook out all the drawers and exposed everything that I’d hidden away. I would still be happy with the way things were, if I hadn’t seen the way they could be. Everything was simple before, and he made it complicated.

  38. At its basic, life is simple, even enjoyable. However, humans, are not simple, we are complicated. And that’s the reason this whole mess started. What mess you ask? Well…it’s complicated, but then, you probably already knew that by now.
