  1. Believe would be so much easier to write about, not because there’s so much to believe in but because its so hard to believe in people.
When trust breaks there’s nothing left to hold onto,
nothing to grasp and bring closer into your heart. Sometimes you’ll never get it back.
    It breaks.
    And then there’s nothing left.

  2. i believe that my brother was born an alien. its a belief I’ve had for years.

  3. There is a solid belief that people are alive.

How do we know that we are alive? For all we know, we could be inanimate characters in a simple game called the SIMS. Our lives are not our own. We are controlled solely by what another person wants us to do. And where is this other person? This person may not even be human. This person… is an ALIEN.

  6. I believe in humanity. I do not believe in supernatural beings because I feel that if they were actually there do the things they are said to do, the world wouldn’t be such a shithole. I wish that it could be true, but the reality is that it isn’t. So live and make your experiences count, do what you will, make your life what you want it to be- you don’t need a deity for that.

    “Unless they killed ‘er already.”
He turned, giving his brother a dirty look.
“That’s my wife you’re talking about.”
“Hah,” the older man said, a puff of smoke pushing through his lips around the half gone cigarette, “the woman y’thought yer wife ain’t who y’married. She’s been a two-faced dice t’ya.”
“Two-faced coin.” The younger added with a small sigh.
“Yea, whatever. Point is, she’s an outlaw. A damn good ‘un too.” The older brother squinted, aimed, and fired. He watched a bird fall from the sky and hit the ground in a small cloud of dust.
“No, she left that life. She didn’t tell me about it for a reason.” The younger one frowned. “I have to believe that…” He following the older one across the ground towards the dead bird.
“Believe what’cha want. Either way, she’s got a real big hole in ‘er pretty face that she likes to flap around. Probably would have shot her just to shut ‘er up.”
    “You don’t know her!”
“She was my partner in crime for many years, baby brother. Trust me, I know her.” The older brother swooped down and picked up the dead crow by it’s curled claws. He turned to face the younger man, giving a toothy grin. “Now, how about sum dinner?”

  11. Jensen stepped out onto the porch of the cozy house and realized that things had indeed changed since he last saw daylight. The sky was angry and dark and the snow was piled deep and grey and sickeningly dirty. He knew it was emanating a dangerous glow of invisible neutrons. It was his belief that nothing really mattered now. Not here, nor anywhere, and so why the hell not see what the nakedness has to offer?

  12. I have a belief that the world is tremendously beautiful place we just need to open our eyes to its wonders and discover them in whatever way is possible.

    Emily Shera
  13. i believe in love above all else. what i rest my life on finding and today i found it. i’m in love!

  14. Belief in God is hard to find in today’s teens. I personally don’t have it. I try. But no matter what I do I just can’t see God in my life. It’s not that I don’t see anything good, I just can’t see something supernatural behind it. I like science, I like rationality. Belief… blind faith… I can’t do it. I just can’t. Does that make me stupid or close-minded?

    Becca
  15. What is belief?

    Do I have to Believe?

Is the process of writing this mean I don’t believe?

Does god really hate me because I am gay?

    I dunno…

I think believing in something isn’t bad… as long as its a positive influence on everyone

    Dylan
  16. Belief is a word that means many things to different people. As small as the belief that Santa exists to as big as the belief that people will live beyond the life we know.

  17. I don’t know what to write. It’s so personal to everyone, and just now I’m realizing how little I’ve looked into it. I feel unprepared. And that’s one thing I believe in: preparedness. Strange, that I feel so uncomfortable with this being sprung on me. Why can’t I think of what to write?

    that someday
when I am all worn out
    and empty on the inside

and the cats will come and make me one of them
    I know it’s strange
but everybody has to believe something

  21. A belief is a simplistic ideal that can absorb one’s thoughts and actions. Belief can consume someone and become their life. Belief is a wonderful thing that keeps our hops and dreams open to new ideas and life. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that you believe.

    Katie F.
  22. Belief is a powerful thing. It can make people do anything, go anywhere, think impossible things. It’s possibly the driving force behind creativity. It can start or end wars, and start or begin love.

    Rachel
  23. It was my belief that I was going to be as productive as I could be today. As luck would have it, that was not the case. Normally, my phone does not ring for days on end, but today, everyone under the sun felt the need to call and purge to me. I love them all, but some sleep would be a blessing right about now.

  24. Something about god

    André
  25. Something that is important to everyone, whether they know it or not, whether they go to church or not. It’s not important what you believe, so much as it is everyone has a belief and conviction. Some beliefs are pretty stupid, I’ll admit, but that’s my own preconceptions, and I’m sure many thing my beliefs are ridiculous. That’s what makes the world go round

    Hi
  26. “I believe what I believe, it’s what makes me what I am…”
I always sang along to this rockin’ Third Day song, but only recently did the true meaning hit me. A firm declaration of faith — something a bit intimidating to casually sing about.

  27. i believe.

    alex howie
  28. The belief that she would wake up without a hangover was impossible. She was on a mission and was close to accomplishing such when he approached her. His face was gentle and kind—almost angelic, even. She went with him, with no more of a choice than a lamb being led to the slaughter house. Her inability to decipher the good from the bad allowed her rash and inconsiderable lack of judgment to fill her choices. Walking outside, he hailed a taxi, put her inside it, and gave the man an address with some money. He seemed familiar—why couldn’t she place his face? Was it the alcohol? Was he a star-crossed lover from another life? But, in the morning she would find her answer sitting at the kitchen table. And, she will be grounded.

  29. the belife system in this word is so messed up, because of religion, we have war, becasue of belife systems, we have hate, and unjust laws.We hate others becasue of what tehy belive in, and its not what we belive, we discourge the use of wrong -doing ins yet we do it ourselfs.

    Ariel

We came from too very strange worlds; and I guess what I wanted to say got lost in translation. We’re still friends, but I’ll never know how she thought of me after that.

    Emma
  33. It is important to have a belief system. But it is even more important to incorporate that belief system into your everyday living. And it helps to be flexible! Sometimes you may have had one idea for many, many years but realized that you needed to adjust your thinking. Beliefs are powerful, and they need to be adaptable, but strong in your personal truth.

    Carol Bailey Floyd
  34. This I believe is a fantastic website where people start with those three words and then tell you. I’ve always wanted to post something. And I’ve frequently tried but, but I don’t know what I believe. I absorb the beliefs around me, but I’m unsure of my own.

  35. The ethereal but very real conviction that something you are unable to see, touch, feel or taste is in fact completely real. Sometimes it can run away with a person but it’s the very foundation for which most of our progress as human beings is built upon. Belief that there is more. Belief that we can be better.

    Rob
  36. Some people believe that a god exists. They say that he created everything, that he thought of everything. If that were true, that same god would have to have created jerks, smelly cologne, and all the crappy things in life. Likewise, this seems to say that anyone could have created everything, if they put their mind to it.

    Emily
