  1. My Dad would tell me that if I could learn how to ride a bike in the gravel, I could ride anywhere. And so, on that fateful camping trip when I was far too old to have training wheels, I learned how to ride a bike down steep hills in slippery rocks. But hey, I never fell.

  5. When I was a little girl I had a two-wheeler. I have a picture of myself sitting on my bike with my hair in pincurls preparing for a procession. Probably had to get up in the middle of the night for that one. I believe my sister was sitting on the handlebars.
