  18. blinds are fascinating. they block out natural light when you don’t want it, and also give you privacy when you want no one peeping inside your house. One major disadvantage is that the ties to pull them down can be challenging

    They keep me from seeing out.
    I hate dusting blinds; the layers of dust and grime feel like an added layer of protection from the invasion of my privacy.
    And yet…when I dust, when I open them wide to the world, I see the beautiful morning…

  23. It’s funny how we take our curtains for granted. They aren’t also called blinds for no reason. They are a barrier, a semi-permeable membrane that shuts us off from the outside world, yet lets us peer through small openings and be amazed at the wonders of the outside world.

  24. there are blinds on my window it helps me to not see all of the mexicans and all of thier crimes. but it still blocks the sun outside that helps me not realize how fucked up my life really is i have a wonderful wife i am getting kicked out of my job

  26. I couldn’t quite see through the blinds, just vague images and outlines. For a moment I wished that I was on the inside instead of out, so I would be able to adjust them, but I knew that if I were inside, it would defeat the purpose.

    And suddenly I saw the muzzle-flash and heard the report of a gunshot inside the house.

  39. Blinds are much better then curtains. With drapes over the windows you can either have them open or closed. With blinds you can adjust the amount of sunlight that shines into your room.
