  1. I never thought I would find myself blinded by whiteness. No, I always thought the feeling of being blind was something more like… like blackness. Darkness. But this was different. This was a swirling of white, obstructing my vision. I knew not where to go. So I sat down and waited for it to pass.

  2. growing up in new england, im used to the cold nd ice and sleet and rain and hail and all kinds of crappy weather. I generally hate winter because of the cold, wet days. but driving around right after a heavy bout of snow. .i see the beauty in that frosted look of the trees

  4. my mind is a blizzard, a whirlwind of pain. I’m so tired, so tired of this and of you and of me. why can’t you just do what i want you to do? why can’t you just be the person i want you to be? respond when i want you to respond? why are you far away and why does it feel like you’re getting further. the blizzard is overtaking me now, cold and wet.

  5. Blizzards are cold and inhibit people’s ability to travel. However, they can also be very beautiful to those who appreciate the aesthetic of falling snow in the breeze. As an Ohioan, I have seen many a blizzard in my day. They are usually a hindrance on my life, but I do enjoy watching them.

  6. There is a lot of snow outside. They keep saying that it’s gonna keep coming, and that blizzards are gonna keep happening for a few more weeks. They ( whoever the illustrious “they” are) also said that from now on, our winters are gonna be like this. No more blizzards please!!

  7. Cold, winter blizzard. It intensifies the feelings of pain and loneliness. But there’s always hope beyond the massive snowfall. Hope of the Spring days to come. Of flowers and sweet breezes.

  8. I live in Louisiana and there is a blizzard outside my window. I’ve never seen snow before…EVER, so this is a big deal. I went outside and built a snowman (really just a mudman) that was about 3inches tall. I’ve never felt more accomplished about anything in my life before. Then I came inside, whined about my frozen hands, and made grits. No, I’m not kidding. I love the snow, as long as I’m inside with a big cup of hot coco. Bring it on.

  9. So we had a blizzard lastnight, but school wasn’t cancelled. I suppose it was because THE ENTIRE FUCKING THING MANAGED TO AVOID MY COUNTY, BUT STILL HIT THE REST OF THE MIDWEST

Long story short, everything about my fucking county is a failure. Blah.

We can’t even get shitty weather right.

  13. I survived the blizzard, man. I’m one of the lucky ones that has power and interesting friends. We went out on my front lawn, the snow up to our knees, and we made Snow Monsters. We’re all 16 years old, but we frolicked in the snow as if we were five again. We made Snow huts and a Snow Godzilla, and this earned us looks from the people living quietly across the street.
It was the Best. Day. Ever.

  14. so yesterday, we were supposed to have a blizzard. they closed down the schools, the city, everything early to avoid getting caught in the storm.

we ended up only having several inches of powdery snow. wowie, good job.

  15. It’s snowing in Texas. A blizzard of about 2 inches deep. And the streets are iced over, and the schools are closed, and the people goon making snow angels and snowmen and snowdragons, who threaten to breathe fire and melt it all away in any second. Thus the reason for the spontaneous play, because you never know how soon the snow dragon will strike.

  17. The night was cold, the winds and snowflakes rolled over the streets. They kissed the sides of my house; a blanket of snow and security. We were trapped alone in the night. Alone with the snow.

  19. I am really hoping for a blizzard tomorrow so I won’t have to face 18 3, 4, and 5 year olds hopped up on sugar and stuck inside. On the other hand, what would I do with my day otherwise? And I do love those little boogers.

  21. Blizzards are cold. Snow is cold. I don’t like driving on the snow. My winter coat is not warm enough for the wind that comes with them. My shoes don’t have enough traction. What was I thinking buying canvas shoes for winter and fall. Not a good idea.

  22. Oh, wow. the blizzard of ’93 in Asheville nC, I was in California. my aunt sent photos of the drifts and told me all about it. now, 17 years later, there’s a blizzard in NYC. I looked up the definition to the word, even.

  28. the snow falls rather wildly tonight. piling above itself, barricading me and my family indoors for the night. I wonder what we will do this sombre evening by the fire. Last time we were too cold to play cards, instead we huddled under a few community blankets and chatted.

  30. Sometimes I feel as if I would like to get caught in a blizzard.
That way, time would stop; I would have just one excuse to get caught in a flurry of snowfall and chaos.
I have always been fascinated by the idea of cold weather. Perhaps it is cause I live in CA. perhaps it is because I associate coldness with something?

    Or is everything I just wrote a lie? Sometimes I don’t know…

  31. It was cold that night. Snow attacked the windows aided by it’s chilly companion known as wind. Both of them managed to slip in through cracks in the windows’ defense. Inhabitants of the room shivered with each ticking second, huddled together for warmth and comfort in the harsh blizzard. A blanket was draped over the shattered family, a meager protection against the chill.

  32. It was snowy and awesome but cold. SO cold that I couldn’t even see. Couldn’t see because of the ice, the snow, the delicious icy frozen dreams that took me away. They took me far away, to where it was warm. Warm, like in the summer. But it’s summer here… So why is it snowing? Who knows, it’s really cold. So cold. Fahrenheit?

  33. old times at the old apartment. i took my camera outside and tried to frame up some shots of the storm on a particularly beautiful day.

when i began editing the footage, i realized the film became more about a feeling of isolation from the outside world, traveling out in the storm in an empty town.

i don’t know how it happened.
