  2. The bracelet hung so delicately from her wrist, which wasn’t nearly as delicate. But she didn’t mind, it was the delicacy of the bracelet that she felt made her as beautiful as the others.

Her lack of make-up and tiny waist weren’t an issue with the little bracelet around her wrist. The bracelet made her beautiful again.

But at times you forget it and even though you get used to it you can feel so empty sometimes, rubbing your wrists and wishing you had it, despite it doing nothing. It contributes nothing but appearance, and yet you miss it…

  9. It’s something unpredictable. She jingled and jangled as she walked along. He realy enjoyed that – but he was still young.

That jingle jangle was his favourite noise, he recalls.

His least favourite was the sound of tyres screeching. And instead of jingling, it scraped.

  15. The bracelet lies on the bathroom counter. It looks like a row of babies dressed in silver, circling a set of electronic toys. It wants to believe in Santa Claus, in multiple piles of money under the floorboards. It pokes its lip out and starts to whine, “Where is my champagne lollipop?”

I still have that bracelet, i look at it whenever i’ve had a fight with someone. it strangely makes the fight seem less important. i can think more objectively but mostly i just think of my sister.

  26. Do I keep it or give it away? What do you do with the love tokens of someone who is now lost? Keep it with you as a reminder, or throw it away to break the connection? A bracelet is as much a symbol of love as the words themselves, a continuous chain of connection. Now gone.

  28. circular piece of jewellery worn on the wrist, usually by women. Tennis bracelets are very popular, they have diamonds all the way across them. I don’t own a bracelet, but I hope to one day. No, that’s not true, I have a bunch of silver bangles, but they’re from Walmart, and I really want a fancy one with diamonds.

  29. I have almost never worn a bracelet. I don’t really see the point in them. Unless it is something that means a lot to you there is no reason to have something constantly around your wrist. I used to wear rubber bands around my wrist in jr. high for a while, but that was just because I enjoyed comepletely forgetting they were there and then realizing it later in the day.

  32. This bracelet, more like a shackle. Condemning me to a life time of this fake and selfish daily life of bullshit. He smiles as he gently and purposefully cuffs me into a life of servitude to money and a lifestyle that is all a facade. The fake smile upon my face as plastic as the visa card that is slipped so habitually into the black notebook that lays so prominently on the table. Black as the void that fills me.

I do have some very nice bracelets, but it’s difficult to find one that fits because my wrists are terribly thin, just like the rest of me. That’s okay though since, like I said, they bother me.

  38. It still sits in my drawer, the top one where all my personal items are. It holds a special place in my heart, even if its own appearance looks nothing more than a cheap novelty. It was from her, the first true love of my life, a woman who could never be replaced in my eyes, except upon her return.
