what i use to do with my family. very relaxing. i wish i could do that right now. escape all this bull shit. why can’t life be easier. people suck. i wish people could just be honest with others. i think i hate my friends. that’s a horrible thing to say. what friends. i really shouldn’t be thinking like this.

My first camp was in the ‘cubs’ when I was 9 years old. We went to the New Forest. It was the middle of the night when bells rang in the darkness outside the tent and I was frightened – heavy breathing – a cow with a bell around it’s neck.

This one time in summer camp, I did this one thing with that one instrument that we had in the band component of the camp. It was so awkward for all three parties involved. I’m not sure if I was actually there or not. Anyway, bygones.
The other thing we need to discuss is how damp this camp is. Should I not end with a preposition? Whoopsiedaisies.

Camp is where a bunch of prepubescent children expect to escape school embarrassment and end up finding it again in the middle of the woods in their underwear. Camp’s got a lot drama, a lot of awkward first kisses, and not enough showers. Camp’s a blast.
when i was younger i went to horse camp. we went riding in the trails through piles of sand and the horse tipped over to scratch his back and fell on top of me! ahhhh!

A place I hated going every year, for eleven years, but still went. I remember some ofmy most humiliating moments being there. All of the awkward teenage moments that everyone seems to have I experienced in one week every summer. Some of my bravest moments too, like when I stood up to a travelling minister.

The concentration camp. It was probably blurry because the lack of food had caused her some level of blindness in her eyesight. There wasn’t much pleasant things around to see anyways. She looked up at the sky hoping for the Almighty to move the curtains of heaven and show her some sign that He was looking upon her suffering.

I do indeed love to camp. Fires, marshmellows hikes, swimming in rivers and lakes. Sex in a tent is always fun. Dont like the mosquitos though. Being a really white boy they love my pale ass skin. Always feels good to shower when you get home.

i went to summer camp when i was in junior high and elementary school. i got to ride horses and sleep in covered wagons. i would love to go back to that camp. i’m sure it would be much different now. i miss sleeping under the stars.
Camp is the time of every kids life where they learn about the ways of nature. Every camp experience is either really bad or really good. I hated camp because of all the bugs and spiders and such. But it was so much fun just hanging out with your friends and going swimming and being in nature.

I went camping once. It was rather shitty actually, I went with my mother and stepfather and a few of their friends. They ended up just drinking all night around the fire, while my brother and I (both around the age of 8 and 6) fooled around with twigs and leaves. There was another group of kids that appeared out of nowhere, and we shared sunflower seeds together, it was the first time I ever had sunflower seeds.

I went to camp last year, and I couldn’t stand it. Nope, not one bit. I will NOT be going back this year! Why? Let me start by telling you about the bus ride over. Mom and Dad put me on the bus and said goodbye. Mom, of course wanted to hug me until the driver forced her to close the door.
Once I found my way at camp. I woke up mysteriously early unintentionally and decided to climb to the apex of the hill. It was genuinely gorgeous, and I watched the sun peek out from under the fir-kissed mountains across our valley. I breathed in the air that felt of Jesus and change and siged my thanks.

i went to summer camp in junior high and elementary school. i got to ride horses and sleep in a covered wagon. the first time i went we stayed in a tree house for the week. i would love to go back to camp. i’m sure its much different now . i miss sleeping under the stars.

I go camping with my fam all the time. I love camping, although one thing that I’ll never get over is how much I despise bugs. Ah well though. I go to the same camp often, and new camps just as often. I love going to Covenant Hills Camp due to how many people I know there.

I want to escape the world for a while. I want to drive up to the mountains and set up camp. I want a tent and sleeping bags while I sit with friends by the fire. I want to leave behind all the insanity that is waiting for me back home, if only to stare at the stars.
Girl scout camp always excited me. Sitting in the cabins, smelling the pine trees, roasting marshmallows; it all got to me. I loved camp. Except for once. The time that there was a snake lurking in my cabin. The snake that bit me and changed my face for the rest of my life.
too many experiences. too many lessons. may Allah bless them all.

One day Munro and Courtney went camping. There was a racoon there which stole most of their food but surprisingly they didnt care, they ended up finding a berry bush and ate those berries…well threw them at each other oops. YAY!

camp is where i go every summer to relax. it is where i’m silly and where i’m free. it is heat and the smell of the bar and it is craziness and hoping for a part and laughing and sweaty costumes and shows.
Olivia Hern
Every summer for the past 5 years I’ve worked at a camp. I love teaching little kids all sorts of new games. Getting paid 40 dollars isn’t bad either.
And it was the night. Clear night. She has a hard time to build the tent but she did it, and she was smiling even though she was exhausted. And I loved her so much at this moment, because she would smile while building a tent.

I never went to camp as a kid, it wasn’t until I had my own two that I took them camping, and we had a great time.
Mary Lou Wynegar
Ah, the great outdoors. Tents, foldable chairs, marshamallows grilling on the open fire at night… We packed for 3 days, 2 nights and it was pretty astonishing the amount of things people need to carry to spend a few days in the great outdoors. People have a lot of baggage!

Camp reminds me of the days I’ve spent on NCSU, totally out of my league, tromping the grounds like I almost belonged but was in reality years away. I’d walk down the paths, grass or stone, sit in the ampitheaters and benches, and write haiku. My poetry teacher was amazing. She gave me my voice.
I went to a basketball camp a few times. I had fun when I participated, but even more fun when I coached other young girls. I’ve only once been to a regular day camp when I was younger and that was a lot of fun too. Every day was different and had many activities to do.

i was never one of those kids who got to go away to summer camp. a fact i guess i am still a little bitter about. i always wanted to have a crazy, camp adventure like in the movies; learn how to make smores, catch fireflies in a jar, usurp the popularity hierarchy by beating the cool kid in the talent show, eventually learn something about myself… that old chestnut.

camp, dirty filthy, hard ground, camp. camping. a verb. a dirty verb, nothing sexual of course…unless it is. camp, day camp. summer camp. camping on the beach. i’d never want to camp in the mountains. no hot showers, nothing to wash yourself with…camping. could you really consider that as a good plan? some do…I don’t. no…not me.

chicken dinner also known as tin turtles and the smell of smoke and the cold beer and the heat from the fire and the laughter and the quiet and the sounds of a desert night.

I hate this place. Memories of boys not liking me, too many bugs, awkward singing campfire songs, and Christianity being pounded into my head. Yet, I recall a beautiful meadow, in the sunshine, that I stumbled upon at one of these camps one time. Don’t know where, don’t know when. But it was beautiful.

MawMaw and PawPaw just sold their camp. Pawpaw fell off the roof of the 2 story camp on mawmaw’s birthday, Sept 23, 2010. He is in the hospital in Baton Rouge right now almost 9 months later because of that fall. I want my pawpaw to get better!!!
When I think of her, the image that comes to mind is a miniature her with a tent and campfire, hanging out in my heart while a miniature me makes a halfhearted attempt at asking her to leave. However, Mini-Me always just ends up sitting on the log next to her making s’mores, totally fine with the fact that my heart’s going to go up in flames. I just can’t seem to get her out of there…
went to camp a long time ago, it was fun, never stayed overnight always went through the day came back home at night. i was very thankful for that i wouldnt have my children stay away from me for too long especially overnight with all these creeps nowadays. mine was at the park, Downey Park in Calumet City.

I went camping last summer with my family. It stormed one night and we had to take shelter in the car, all 8 of us crowding into the van. The air was sticky and hot, and everyone was freaking out. The campers in the lot next to us were frantically searching for their dog. Luckily, they found him, much to the relief of my younger sisters.
We had to make it back to camp before lights out or the unspeakable could happen. we had always heard about “the unspeakable” but we never thought we would actually even get close to experiencing it. we had only 5 minutes before the doors would close for the night & then we would be left out in the cold with who knows what lurking around.

Camp – the very word made her feel excited. The anticipation of all the brilliant things she would do whilst she were there, all the new friends she would make, the fun she would have. And now it had all been taken from her. Why, oh why did she have to brake her leg now?

When I turned 14 my church went camping. It was the first time that I had really gone. I loved that time mainly because my best friend was still alive. We played many games and had all the fun in the world. Even if we did have to come back eventually.
Twice every year there is a camping trip brought together by my school’s Outer’s Club. They are usually wonderfully fun and amazing experiences. There’s usually a spring one. It started this morning, actually, but why am I not one it? Stupid waiting lists…
I could not fathom a thing. The darkness overflew the riverside. Jack stood beside the wooden logs, humming a song I’ve never heard of. Something about merri-go-a-rounds and circuses. Bright lights and pretty baby faces.
